The new storage components include a Serial ATA controller, an iSCSI storage adapter and an ultra-low voltage Intel Celeron processor. The Intel Serial ATA Controller 31244 is the industry's first disk controller to offer the price/performance advantages of the Serial ATA II storage interconnect standard, formally called Serial ATA II: Extensions to Serial ATA 1.0. The second generation of the Intel PRO/1000 T IP Storage Adapter increases the performance of iSCSI storage applications. The Ultra Low Voltage Intel Celeron processor at 400 MHz can be used in embedded applications, including entry-level network-attached storage (NAS) systems.
